A Love Letter To Women
From a young age, my grandmother always wanted me to know that I was beautiful inside and out. In a world where all our time is filled with consuming media, women often find themselves compared to picture-perfect images. Beauty standards are ingrained into us from a young age, and the idea of getting older and changing is often viewed as a negative time in a woman’s life.
Yet, we women go through many changes and stages in our lives, adding to our unique beauty. This project is not just about capturing faces, but about revealing the stories, emotions, and identities that make each subject uniquely beautiful. Through this series of portraits of women, young and old, I aim to celebrate the richness and depth of experience that comes with each passing year.
While working on this project, I had the opportunity to connect with the women I photographed. Though they were strangers, I got to hear stories about triumphs, struggles, and what they loved the most about themselves this point in their lives. These moments of connection helped me to capture not just their outer beauty, but the essence of who they are, revealing their authentic inner beauty.
I believe that beauty knows no age or singular definition, and this project is a testament to the idea that every stage of life offers its own celebration of strength. Each portrait shows resilience, style, and individuality, inviting viewers to reconsider their own perceptions of beauty.
